Stadium Sports Bar & Grill in Quincy Rebranding as Iron Furnace

The current owners of Stadium Sports Bar & Grill are pleased to announce they are temporarily closing after business on Sunday, 8/30 for cosmetic improvements, and reopening in approximately 10 days under the new name, Iron Furnace. The casual, American restaurant and bar will serve a new menu of creative pub food, and include a broader selection of craft beers and cocktails. “The Furnace” will be a great place to bring the family, friends, or a date, watch games on 34 high-def TV’s, and an ideal spot to host a private event.

“Iron Furnace” is a proud tribute to the vital role that Quincy played in American history. The John Winthrop, Jr. Iron Furnace Site on Crescent Street in Quincy, is the site of the first commercial blast iron furnace built in 1645, on land that eventually became the United States. The site was added to the National Register of historic Places in 1977.

Ownership of the restaurant and bar is not changing. Sharon Driscoll and John O’Sullivan, former owners of The Crossing Bar in Mission Hill in Boston, bought the Quincy Stadium in January of 2015 from The Mayo Group, which also owned Stadium locations in Southie and Downtown Boston.

Statement from Sharon Driscoll and John O’Sullivan, “We’re committed to contributing to the short and long-term rejuvenation of Quincy Center. With summer winding down, this is an opportune time for us to spruce the place up, move on from the Stadium brand, and be ready to go before the Patriots’ home opener on September 10th.” (The target opening date is Tuesday, 9/8 at 4pm for dinner.)

Entertainment will include comedy, karaoke, sports trivia, PaintNite, DJ’s on weekends, and live music about once a month. Fall shows already lined up include Louie Bello on 9/25, and Chad LaMarsh on 10/2.

Private function rooms will be available for 20-150 people, including a private bar, the John Quincy Adams Room with a projection screen for presentations, and the Vault Room for smaller groups. We’re already booking christenings, birthdays, engagement parties, wedding rehearsal dinners, bridal/baby shower, reunions, fantasy football, and fundraisers for local sports teams for the fall.
