Masquerade Gala Brings Dancing and Dining to

Fitchburg’s Historic Armory for 250th Celebration

Fitchburg Welcomes Revelers to October Society Benefit

(Fitchburg, MA) The Fitchburg 250 Committee is organizing a Society Gala Dance on Saturday, October 25 from 6:30 p.m. to midnight to benefit the Fitchburg Senior Center and celebrate Fitchburg’s 250th anniversary.  The gala theme is that of a masquerade ball. Attendees are welcome to arrive in elegant masquerade costumes or may also choose to attend in black tie.

Set at the Fitchburg Armory (now the Fitchburg Senior Center), 14 Wallace Avenue, the atmosphere will be festive and elegant, with lavish decorations designed by Ernie Maguy of Windmill Florist. Dance music will be provided by a live band, and recorded interval music will be played by disc jockey Scott Pryor. The evening’s refreshments will feature community restaurants and catering in a “Taste of the Community” that highlights each chef’s specialty.

“This year’s celebration of Fitchburg’s 250th anniversary has welcomed all members of the community, for a patriotic kick off, Civic Days, concerts and historic programs,” says Fitchburg mayor Lisa Wong. “Now, the entire community is welcome to come and celebrate by dining and dancing to benefit the Senior Center.”

“We are looking forward to enjoying dishes by some of the area’s talented chefs along with terrific dance music,” according to City Councilman Joel Kaddy, the gala chairman. “It’s wonderful that this kind of fun evening on the town also gives back to the community.”

Tickets are $50 per person or $90 for a couple, and may be purchased in advance at the Fitchburg Historical Society, Slattery’s, DeBonis and Davin Florist, Mill #3, Shack’s, Homestead Primitives, Elliott’s Jewelers, Fitchburg Mayor’s Office and Windmill Florist. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
